Caitlin Clark ties Tamika Catchings' Fever franchise mark in latest win

Caitlin Clark is no stranger to holding Indiana Fever team records. And now she's close to adding another impressive one to her resume.

Clark always seems to play her best against the Chicago Sky, and that was certainly the case on Thursday. The former Iowa star posted 32 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in the Fever's 114-106 overtime win over the Sky. It was the third 30-point double-double of Clark's WNBA career, which ties her with a Fever franchise legend atop the record books.

Tamika Catchings had three 30-point double-doubles in her career. Clark pulled even with the longtime member of the Fever with her third 30-point double-double.

Catchings, the 2011 WNBA MVP, played her entire 15-year career in Indiana, appearing in 457 games. Clark has tied her franchise record in just 64 games, a testament to how quickly she's adjusted to the WNBA game. Outside of some injury problems last season, she's been exactly what Fever fans hoped she would be so far. At just 24-years-old, there's plenty of time for Clark to hold this record all for herself.

Over the next decade, Clark will have a great chance to overtake a few more of Catchings' franchise marks. If she continues at her current career averages of 18.8 points and 8.5 assists per game, she'll pass Catchings for most points and assists in Fever franchise history.

Clark will continue her climb in the record books on Saturday night, when the Fever take on the Connecticut Sun. Tipoff will be at 5 p.m. CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Network and stream on Peacock.
