The New York Giants opened rookie minicamp on Friday with a 49-man roster that includes two veteran tryouts, tight end Josiah Deguara and outside linebacker Quinton Bell.

Deguara, a 29-year-old Santa Rosa, California, native, entered the league as a third-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2020 out of Cincinnati.
Across six seasons with the Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Arizona Cardinals, the 6-foot-2, 235-pound tight end has appeared in 77 games, catching 53 passes for 471 yards and three touchdowns. He has also contributed on special teams and as a fullback in certain packages.
Bell, a 6-foot-4, 258-pound edge defender from Long Beach, California, was a seventh-round selection by the Oakland Raiders in 2019 out of Prairie View A&M.
The 30-year-old has played in 38 games over seven seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, and Miami Dolphins. He recorded 38 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble while earning a Super Bowl ring with Tampa Bay in 2020.
Veteran tryouts during rookie minicamp are routine and do not ensure a contract offer. The practices give the Giants an extended look at experienced depth options alongside their 2026 draft class and undrafted free agents.
