As has been well-established by now, Alessandro Bastoni of Inter Milan has become the priority target for the reigning La Liga champions.
However, a move for the Italian international could cost in excess of €70 million. As such, the Blaugrana are keeping an eye on the market for low-cost alternatives.
One such name on their radar happens to be Marcos Senesi of AFC Bournemouth, whose contract with the Premier League expires at the end of the season.
Senesi wants to remain in England
However, according to Argentine journalist Uriel Iugt, Senesi wants to continue in the Premier League beyond this season.
The 28-year-old Argentine’s contract expires on 30 June 2026, and he has already decided that he will not sign a renewal with Bournemouth and leave as a free agent.

However, at the same time, Senesi wishes to continue playing in the Premier League in England, meaning a move to Barcelona might not materialise.
As per the report, the defender’s camp is already in contact with multiple Premier League sides, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
So, if Senesi is firm on his decision to remain in England, there is no shortage of suitors for him.
While this does come as a bit of a blow for Barcelona, as mentioned previously, their absolute priority remains Bastoni.
The 26-year-old Italian international is excited to join the Catalans in the summer and has given the green light to a move. But any deal will depend on how the negotiations between Barça and Inter Milan progress.
