George Springer left their game, and afterward, the update wasn't ideal.

Springer has a fractured left big toe.

That's not good, but the full-time DH has a number of choices to replace him.

Who can replace George Springer?

Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith shared a list of seven names on X that could replace Springer:

  • Eloy Jiménez
  • Yohendrick Pinango
  • Jonatan Clase
  • Riley Tirotta
  • Charles McAdoo
  • RJ Schreck
  • Josh Kasevich

Clase is the only one of those guys on the 40-man roster, but he's also currently injured.

The Blue Jays do have an open spot on the 40-man roster, though, so they could add one of those other hitters.

Jimenez has the most big league experience.

McAdoo is related to basketball Hall of Famer, Bob McAdoo.

Kasevich had a strong Spring Training.

The Blue Jays could go a bunch of different ways here, and in reality, one of the guys on the MLB roster will likely handle DH duties, and whoever they call up will be meant more as depth than anything else.

Mostly, they'll be hoping Springer doesn't have to be out for too long.
