Tennessee basketball NCAA Tournament projection after March 14 games

The 2026 NCAA Tournament men's basketball bracket will be announced Sunday at 6 p.m. EDT. Selection Sunday will be televised by CBS.

Tennessee (22-11, 11-7 SEC) was a five seed in the SEC Tournament. The Vols were eliminated by No. 4 seed Vanderbilt (25-7, 11-7 SEC), 75-68, in the quarterfinals on Friday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Vols defeated Auburn, 72-62, in the SEC Tournament second round on Thursday after earning a first-round BYE.

Following college basketball games on March 14, Joe Lunardi of ESPN released updated bracketology projections for the NCAA Tournament.

Lunardi projects the Vols as a No. 6 seed in Greenville, South Carolina. Tennessee is projected to face No. 11 seed VCU in the first round. The winner would advance to play either No. 3 seed Purdue or No. 14 seed Troy in the second round.
