KENS 5 evening sports anchor Nate Ryan, who many will recognize by his Spurs courtside coverage, announced he'll be leaving the station at the end of the week. In a Wednesday, November 4, Instagram post, the Chicago native gave a bit of "personal news."

"It's been the ultimate privilege to represent this station, continuing a legacy that's spanned over 75 years," he said. "To have led the Sports Department for the last 4+ years is one of the honors of my life. Hopefully they were as much fun for you, as they were for me…..Every. Single. Night."

He joined the local CBS affiliate in 2022. Continuing, he said, "I got lucky when I came to KENS. They sat the kid next to Isis, Henry, and my man Billy T on the prime-time desk. The chemistry came quick. We've learned, we've listened, and we've definitely laughed. The memories we made on set I'll have forever."

He also thanked the San Antonio community in his farewell post.

"For as much as I've worked for the station, I work for the people of San Antonio," Ryan said. "The competitive spirit of our city sets it apart: From the Spurs, to our youth sports. San Antonio deserves an energy to match! Thank you for welcoming me into your city, and into your homes. Hopefully you still do in the future ;) My last newscast is this Thursday. Much more then."

Ryan was tight-lipped about his next move in the post, though some commenters speculated about what's coming next or just wished him well. MySA reached out for additional info, but didn't immediately receive a response.
