Packers stick in a playoff spot with their Week 8 win
· Yahoo Sports
If the Green Bay Packers had lost to fall to .500 on the season, they also would have fallen out of their playoff spot. With their home win on Thursday, they ensured they would stick in a playoff spot well into November.
After moving to 5-3 overall and 4-3 in the NFC, the Packers can’t be passed by the Seattle Seahawks for that seventh slot. The Seahawks have a worse NFC record in the first tiebreaker even with a win on Sunday.

The Packers won’t be able to pass the Detroit Lions into sixth place this week because of Detroit’s Week 7 win over Green Bay. So the Packers will stay seventh.
