LSU football has played eight straight weeks in a row to open the 2026 college football season.
First-year head coach Lane Kiffin and the No. 13-ranked Tigers have finally arrived at a much-needed off week leading into Halloween. LSU (6-2, 3-2 SEC) has won six of its first eight games this season, including three of its first five Southeastern Conference contests.

Coming out of the off week, LSU will host a top-15 showdown inside Tiger Stadium as No. 10 Alabama (6-2, 4-2) comes calling to Baton Rouge Saturday, Nov. 7, to kick off the final month of the regular season. The rivalry matchup with the Crimson Tide will be the second game against a top 10 team this season with the first being a 32-24 loss at Ole Miss earlier this year.
LSU defeated Auburn, 38-17, inside Jordan-Hare Stadium this past Saturday afternoon for its first SEC road victory in more than two years (34-10 at Arkansas, Oct. 19, 2024).
Quarterback Sam Leavitt accounted for four touchdowns, three passing and one rushing, while he threw for 387 yards on 32 for 45 passing. Wide receiver Jackson Harris had a career day against Auburn amassing nine receptions for 178 yards along with two scores.
