Shane Beamer may have quieted the hot seat talks at South Carolina — at least for the time being.

The Gamecocks ended their eight-game losing streak against SEC foes on the road against a ranked Florida team at the Swamp. South Carolina dominated the Gators in the trenches as Missouri did last week en route to a 38-19 win.

The South Carolina social media team added insult to injury after the win, posting a video on social media of what was presumably the Friday night team dinner. The Gamecock players enjoyed a feast of smoked alligator, which proved to be a premonition for Saturday's game.

It's quite the troll against a Florida team that's reeling right now under first-year coach Jon Sumrall. The Gators surged into the top 10 after an upset win over Ole Miss, but they've now dropped two games in a row by a combined 83-36 margin.

For South Carolina, it was a much-needed win to get back to .500 and earn its first conference victory of the season under Beamer, whose future seemed to be very much in jeopardy entering the day.
