The Milwaukee Brewers won Game 1 of the NLDS over the San Diego Padres, and it wasn't without some incredible theatrics.
Jacob Misiorowski started Game 1 for the Brewers, and he instantly made some MLB history. His first pitch of the game was a ridiculous 104.8 mph, becoming the fastest pitch ever thrown in the MLB postseason. But he didn't stop there.
As Jayson Stark of The Athletic highlighted, Misiorowski actually made MLB postseason history three times over during his Game 1 start this year with the Brewers' ace throwing three 104+ mph pitches, breaking Mason Miller's MLB playoff record.
How Jacob Misiorowski made MLB history with three 104+ mph pitches
"It also took him two pitches to fire the two fastest pitches ever recorded in a postseason game (104.8 mph on his first pitch, 104.6 on his second)," Stark writes.
In his first start of the 2026 MLB postseason, after a likely Cy Young-winning regular season, Misiorowski threw three of the fastest pitches that the postseason has ever seen since the Statcast era began.
Stark highlighted the 104.8, 104.6, and 104.5 mph pitches that Misiorowski threw in this Saturday night's NLDS Game 1 vs. the Padres.

Fittingly, Mason Miller, the previous record holder at 104.5 mph during last year's playoffs, was sitting in the Padres bullpen hoping for a chance to close out the game in the ninth for the Padres.
Aroldis Chapman, back in 2010, held the record for 15 years before Miller, and then Misiorowski, broke it. Chapman, in Game 3 of the NLDS, had a 104.2 mph pitch for the Cincinnati Reds.
Now, 16 years later, Misiorowski threw three pitches faster than that in the one game as a starter. It's quite an incredible feat and is another record for Misiorowski when it comes to pitch velocity.
He's carving out a large section of the MLB record books for himself with these records, and this is another incredible record that he's made in just his second big-league season.
