Milwaukee Brewers: Jackson Chourio has MLB postseason home run record within reach

· Yahoo Sports

The Milwaukee Brewers overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the San Diego Padres in Game One of the National League Divisional Series. They tied the game in the bottom of the third inning when Jackson Chourio hit a two run home run. Later, in the seventh inning, William Contreras laced a solo home run to give Milwaukee a 3-2 advantage.

That would go on to be the final score.

Going into the NLDS, Brewers fans were hopeful that, at some point, they would get to see Chourio hit a home run. His blast was his fifth career postseason home run, which makes him the franchise’s all-time postseason leader.

Milwaukee Brewers star Jackson Chourio will make MLB history with his next home run

Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Jackson Chourio (11) hits a single during the third inning of their game against the Chicago Cubs Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

One of the things that is so incredible about Chourio’s postseason home run total (five) is that he has hit them all before turning 23 years old. Indeed, with one more blast this fall, he will set the all-time MLB record for postseason home runs before the age of 23. He currently shares the record with Kyle Schwarber and Juan Soto:

What is more, Chourio, who is playing in the postseason for the third year in a row, has homered in each of of the playoff series in which he has played.

Of course, the Brewers left fielder is coming off of an historic regular season as well. Despite missing the first month of the year with a hairline fracture, he had his third consecutive 20-20 season to start his MLB career, making him one of just three players to do so. He also hit a career-high 25 home runs and slashed a career-best .291/.351/.487.
