The 24th annual Akron Marathon and half marathon is set for Sept. 26 starting at 7 a.m. in downtown Akron.

The course offers a foot-tour through the heart of Akron, highlighting historic landmarks, vibrant neighborhoods and scenic Summit Metro Parks.
Runners and walkers begin and end in downtown Akron, passing through the Akron Art Museum, The University of Akron, Firestone Park, the Towpath Trail, Sand Run Parkway, Stan Hywet Estate and Highland Square before reaching the iconic Blue Line finish at Lock 3.

You can also see the scheduled road closures at https://www.akronmarathon.org/road-closures/. You can use the WAZE app on race day. There will also be slight closures on Friday Sept. 25 as well due to the Kids Fun Run.
There is no parking along the racecourse between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sat.
What are the 2026 Akron Marathon race times?
Kids Fun Run on Friday:
- Start time: 6 p.m.
- 214 W. Bowery St., at Akron Children’s Hospital
- Finish: Lock 3
Marathon Saturday:
- Start time 7 a.m.
- Downtown Akron on High Street next to the Akron Art Museum.
- Finish: Lock 3
Half marathon Saturday:
- Start time 7 a.m.
- Downtown Akron on High Street next to the Akron Art Museum.
- Finish: Lock 3
