‘Unacceptable’ – NFL fans call out Dak Prescott after Dallas Cowboys lose first game of the season

Dak Prescott is receiving a fair amount of heat after the Dallas Cowboys lost against the New York Giants.
The misery has begun early for the Dallas Cowboys fans. Their highly anticipated kick-off for the 2026-27 season ended in a 28-20 loss against one of their bitter division rivals.

The Giants managed to score with ease during the game, showing up the Cowboys’ defence. However, that was not the only issue with the team.
Dak Prescott threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns during the game. However, he also threw an inexplicable pick. And that had fans fuming.

Prescott has been a really good QB throughout, but hardly a truly great one. There have often been moments where he makes the wrong decision or similar mistakes.
During the Giants loss, his mistake was throwing just inside the sideline during a play where a lineman had broken through and had Prescott on the run.
“This is unacceptable, man. What was he even thinking there?” one fan asked. “New season, same old Dak,” another comment read.
“Dak couldn’t even make it to halftime of the first game without throwing a pick,” a third fan observed. “Yeah, good idea throwing that ball into double coverage,” someone sarcastically said.
“Dak Prescott already in mid-season form to start 2026,” a fifth fan joked. “His problem is that while he’s not that bad, he’s also not that good,” a sixth fan wisely wrote.
Many factors went into the Cowboys losing, Dak certainly wasn’t the only issue. However, mistakes at this level can get amplified beyond reason, and that is what’s happening to Prescott at the moment.
