Northeast Frontier Railway Hosts 72nd All India Inter Railway Table Tennis Championship

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), through the N.F. Railway Sports Association (NFRSA), is organizing the 72nd All India Inter Railway Table Tennis Championship (Men & Women) 2026-27 from 03rd August to 07th August, 2026 at the NFRSA Indoor Stadium, Maligaon.

The prestigious championship will bring together talented table tennis players representing various Zonal Railways and Production Units from across Indian Railways, providing a platform for healthy sporting competition, teamwork and excellence. The tournament will witness the participation of 65 men players and 31 women players from different Railway teams across the country. In addition, 17 nominated referees appointed by the Railway Board, two selectors, and one observer will officiate and oversee the conduct of the championship.
The championship will feature competitions in both Men's and Women's categories over five days. Railway sportspersons from across the country will compete for top honours, reflecting the strong sporting culture and commitment to excellence within Indian Railways.
The Opening Ceremony was held today, with Shri Ramesh Kumar, Additional General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The opening ceremony commenced with the introduction of participating teams, followed by the arrival of the Chief Guest, welcome address by the President of NFRSA, flag hoisting and introduction of Railway Board officials, address by the Chief Guest, felicitation ceremony and formal declaration of the championship open.
Northeast Frontier Railway has consistently promoted sports by providing quality infrastructure and opportunities for railway sportspersons to excel at national and international levels.
