As Major League Baseball's trade deadline looms on Monday, the Mets front office has begun peeling away at the foundation of its roster to build for the future.

It began late Thursday night when A.J. Minter was traded to the Twins for a pair of infield prospects. It continued on Sunday afternoon when Freddy Peralta was dropped into the AL East pennant race when he was dealt to the Rays for three more prospects.
In those deals, the Mets inserted four new players into their top 25 of their system in middle infielder Bruin Agbayani (No. 25) from the Twins and outfielder Aidan Smith (No. 12), second baseman Emilien Pitrie (No. 15) and right-hander Gary Gill Hill (No. 17).
The Mets front office is far from finished as the 6 p.m. deadline rapidly approaches, and the club is destined to look far different when they enter Cleveland for the first in a nine-game road trip on Tuesday.
Some of the other Mets to watch in the trade market include right-handers Clay Holmes and Luke Weaver, left-hander Brooks Raley and outfielders Luis Robert Jr. and Tyrone Taylor.
Those four pitchers each threw in a game on Sunday, with Holmes completing his third rehab start and the bullpen trio combining to toss three scoreless innings in the Mets' 2-0 loss to the Marlins.

Huascar Brazoban dealt to White Sox, report says
The Mets continued to stockpile prospects early Monday morning by dealing a name that appeared to be on the periphery.
According to a report from The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, the Mets have traded Huascar Brazoban to the White Sox for right-handed pitching prospects Gabe Davis and Zach Franklin.
Brazoban's future with the Mets was more unsettled given his additional three years of team control beyond 2026. He is having a career season with a 5-2 record and 2.56 ERA in 46 games.
The 22-year-old Davis, who is in Double-A, is the White Sox's No. 18 prospect, while Franklin, 27, is unranked.
