WCG Dynasty Fantasy Football: Assessing Brandon Robinson’s Roster

Well, we’ve done it. With this assessment, we’ve looked at all 14 rosters in the WCG Dynasty Fantasy Football League and examined all of them for strengths, weaknesses, and where they could improve.

Our last roster in this series is the roster of Brandon Robinson. Brandon has had a solid roster that has been competing for titles the last couple of seasons. He hasn’t gotten over the hump. Can this be the year? Let’s take a look.
Here’s the roster:
I know Brandon has struggled to find a consistent QB1 that he can start. Did he finally find it with Sam Darnold? I’m all for handcuffing QBs, but usually I like to have the starter as well. After Darnold, Brandon has an additional 5 QBs on the roster, and 4 of them are backups, and the other is Tua. There’s not much here after Darnold.
In the RB room, Williams and Walker are a nice duo that will start most weeks as long as they are healthy. Having both Jones and Mason does really well to have that room handcuffed as a third option.
The WR room looks like it might be in a bit of a transitional phase. Brown and Diggs have been a nice duo at the top of any fantasy team. And with guys like Ridley, Addison, and Pittman behind them, it’s certainly a room that you wouldn’t complain about. Will Brown get back to his big dog status in New England? What will Diggs be this year? Can you get anything out of Ridley? Will Pittman be better or worse in Pittsburgh? There are a lot of questions here. This room can’t be bad, but it may not be as strong as it was a couple of seasons ago.
The tight end room has Tre McBride, so it’s automatically a great room. Njoku probably isn’t much of a point-getter anymore, and he’s also 31. This roster could really use something behind McBride.
This DT room, when Chris Jones was cleaning up, was strong, but Jones is on his last legs and isn’t the fantasy scorer he used to be. Redmond had a pretty big season last year; can he repeat that performance? He’s a UDFA who keeps getting better; it’ll be interesting to see what he is this year. Will Fiske eat more this year with Garrett in town? What if Donald comes back? What does that do to him? Wyatt is a guy who is probably a bigger name than a fantasy star.
This edge room, if TJ Watt is back, paired with Myles Garrett, is just silly good. The guys behind those two are decent rotational guys and can start in a pinch, but Brandon really needs his dynamic duo to stay healthy.
The linebacker room is loaded with big names, but it has point getters. A lot of these guys are the types of players that don’t make splashy plays; they just make tackles. That’s not going to do a ton to pivot a game on the field, but it can pivot a fantasy game. Some of these guys may lose snaps this year, but there are plenty of scenarios where finding 3-4 starters in this group won’t be a problem.

The safety room also looks like it has enough point scorers to make some noise. Again, not a ton of high-profile guys, but last year 24 safeties scored 190 or more points in our scoring system, and Brandon had 4 of them. You certainly can’t complain with those results.
This is a really solid team. It should put together a really strong starting lineup and has enough depth behind it to pilot any injury storms. There’s no reason this roster shouldn’t be competing for a title this season.
