The Hall of Fame inducting its biggest class this year across three enshrinement ceremonies. Ten of the record 32 inductees celebrated at the Kansas Star Casino. Some of the distinguished class include Mike Kennedy, cousins DeAngelo and Maurice Evans, Greg Brummett and Ricky Ross, among others. There were a lot of connections among the recipients even though they spanned multiple sports and eras.
“After you’ve done it awhile, in your mind, you hope maybe someday,” Kennedy said. “But that isn’t one of the things you focus on as you’re going along. You mentioned the Shockers that I described. There are five other people in this incoming class who have been in games that I broadcast, some outside of Wichita State, so that’s pretty cool.”
The final induction ceremony will be Aug. 16 in Kansas City, Kan.
