What more could I say that he hasn’t?
Porro was immense in the World Cup final, and I think he was the best player on the pitch for most of the match (until the Ferran Torres goal and the Mikel Merino Scott Sterling-esque block late in the match).
Cristian Romero is likely to leave this summer. We all know it. So that leaves the question of who the new captain will be.
I’ve been reading the comments and forums. There’s lots of question of should it be Porro? Should it be James Maddison? Someone else?
That question can use a few weeks to answer (especially if Cuti doesn’t leave). Til then, let’s celebrate the latest World Cup winner in the squad.
