Dabo Swinney, Clemson looking for best role for Denson heading into 2026

Chris Denson is easily the most athletic quarterback on the Tigers' roster. His ability to evade rushers and make defenders miss in the open field is akin to Kelly Bryant in his days with Clemson. However, his pass ability has fluctuated between a "question mark" and a "serious limitation."

Because of this, Dabo mentioned that Denson might switch positions after getting very few reps in the Spring Game. When asked about that switch, Swinney continued to point to a potential change, but didn't commit to anything officially; "I don’t know if he's made a full decision, he's worked some receiver, worked some running back,” said the Tigers’ head coach."Well, figure it out, he's open to figuring it out. We just haven't been on the field with him to give him an evaluation. But he's been working on multiple things in the offseason, we'll see more as we go through."

Many players have switched to receiver during their collegiate careers and carved out lucrative careers. Denson is hoping to make an impact somewhere this season, and Swinney seems interested in getting the athletic star on the field in 2026.
