On Thursday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will begin their NBA Summer League campaign with a match against the Detroit Pistons. The Summer League provides players with a chance to make a case for why they deserve a spot on an NBA roster, while giving fans and the basketball world alike a chance to see some of the rising talents for their respective teams.

Here are three Philadelphia 76ers players to watch out for in the NBA Summer League.

Given that Labaraon Philon Jr is the Philadelphia 76ers' first-round pick from the 2026 NBA Draft, this entry should be a no-brainer. Philon was selected with the 22nd pick in the draft, coming off of an impressive sophomore season at the University of Alabama in which he averaged 22 points per game on 50.1 percent shooting from the field, while also dishing out five assists.
Philon is slated to be a name to watch coming off the bench for Philadelphia this season, given the depth they have in the backcourt, which was only added to in the trade that saw Jaylen Brown make the move down to the City of Brotherly Love. The Summer League has also been a spotlight for the 76ers' last two backcourt draftees, as VJ Edgecombe lit up the West Coast courts in his two outings last season, as did Jared McCain in the year prior.
Johni Broome
Johni Broome is headed into his second NBA Summer League, which isn't exactly uncommon for players just entering the league, especially those who had the rookie campaign that the former Auburn Tiger did. Broome never really got a chance to break through at the NBA level, given that he was fighting against the likes of Andre Drummond and Adem Bona to back up Joel Embiid in the front court.

With this jammed pathway to playing time in mind, Broome was sent down to the Delaware Blue Coats to continue working on his craft, with the move working out favorably, with the 23-year-old averaging 21.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per night in the G League. But all of this would come to a sudden halt when, in late February, Broome suffered from a tear in his right meniscus, which practically ended his first year in the NBA.
Given that Broome didn't get the chance to really prove himself at the NBA level, only appearing in 11 matches, it will provide him with another chance to show off what he's been working on in the offseason.
Duke Miles
Duke Miles entered the NBA Draft coming off an impressive season at Vanderbilt, one in which he would drop 16.1 points and 4.5 assists per night, while becoming a pest for opponents on the defensive end, stripping the ball away for an SEC-leading 2.6 times a night. It wouldn't have been a shock to hear Miles' night be called on either the first or second night at the Barclays Center, but it would never happen, as he'd go undrafted.

But this wouldn't stop him from getting picked up by a team in the association, as Philadelphia picked him up on an Exhibit 10 contract, which means he will be brought on for a training camp, but will most likely be allowed back for a spot in the G League with the Blue Coats.
The Summer League will be Miles' first chance to show teams around the league that they missed out on adding a valuable player to their roster during those two nights in late June.
