Bears tight end room named the best in the NFL

The Chicago Bears have no shortage of weapons on offense, and that includes a tight end group featuring last year's rookie standout Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet and rookie Sam Roush, who will all be key in the offense's success.
Even when it was just Loveland and Kmet, the Bears were considered to have a top tight end duo. But head coach Ben Johnson continues to make his mark on the roster using a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Stanford's Sam Roush to round out the tight end room, paving the way for plenty of 12 and 13 personnel in 2026.

But where does Chicago's tight ends rank among the rest of the league? Pro Football Network's Jacob Infante named the Bears' tight end group the best in the NFL, ahead of the Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Loveland, selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, is coming off an impressive rookie season with Chicago. He led the Bears in receptions (58) and receiving yards (713) and set an NFL rookie record with the most receiving yards in a single postseason with 193 yards in two playoff games.
Kmet took a backseat to Loveland in the passing game last season, totaling 30 receptions on 48 targets for 347 yards and two touchdowns, which was his worst output since his rookie year. But he excelled as a blocker that helped pave the way for the NFL's top-three rushing attack and top-10 passing game.
Now, Roush joins the mix with the opportunity to contribute immediately as a rookie. He won't be a focal point in the passing game, but it's his blocking prowess that should prove to be valuable for Chicago's offense.
