Post 14 sweeps Brainerd, scores 26 runs in 10 innings

Jun. 17—BRAINERD — The bats were hot for the Bemidji American Legion baseball team on Tuesday in Brainerd.

The Centaurs scored 26 runs in 10 innings, beating Brainerd by scores of 14-0 and 12-2.

In the first game, Jack Zelmann and James Garrison each recorded two hits, with Zellmann going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Gunner Ganske also went 1-for-1 with a double and two walks.

Kobe Brown pitched all five innings for Post 14. He allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out six batters.

In Game 2, the Centaurs had 10 hits. Kash Rasmus, Zellmann and Berg each went 2-for-4. Zellmann and Berg each doubled and combined for seven RBIs. Brennen Brower, Heaton Brodina and Garrison all doubled, while Gunner Ganske tripled. Berg also homered in the fifth inning.

On the mound, Berg allowed just one earned run and seven hits with three walks. He struck out three batters over five innings.
