Eastside 9, Fairfield 7

Fairfield had just one hit, but the Falcons were able to score seven runs Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately for the hosts, Fairfield allowed nine runs as Eastside triumphed in Benton. Landon Beasy’s three-run double scored a trio of tallies for the hosts while Kyler Castetter drove in the only other run for Fairfield. The Falcons are now 4-11, 1-5 NECC.

Westview 9, Jimtown 8

Westview’s 9-0 lead held on against a fierce Jimtown rally Tuesday in Emma. The Warriors scored nine runs off nine hits while the Jimmies plated eight runs off eight hits. Jaxon Christner was 3-of-3 for Westview, scoring three runs. Owen Weinberg earned the win on the mound, throwing six innings before Elijah Zolman came in and got the save by striking out all three batters in the seventh. Westview is now 4-9.

SOFTBALL

Fairfield 11, Eastside 2

Fairfield defeated Eastside 11-2 and took advantage of six Blazer errors Tuesday. Preslee Caouette was 3-of-4, driving in three runs with a double and home run. Madison Jones got the win on the mound, throwing all five innings and allowing just five hits. Fairfield is now 14-3 (5-1 NECC).

Wawasee 18, Northridge 8 (5 inn.)

Wawasee put the work on Northridge in a five-inning rout in Syracuse Tuesday. The Warriors scored 11 runs in the second inning and held a 17-2 lead after three innings. Melissa Bontrager was 3-of-3 at the plate, driving in four runs. Heatherlynn Holder also drove in four for the Warriors. Northridge was led by Rachel Humbarger’s two hits. Wawasee is now 10-8, 5-2 NLC. Northridge drops to 7-5, 4-3 NLC.

Westview 14, Hamilton 3 (6 inn.)

Westview scored seven runs in the sixth and out-hit Hamilton 13-4 to earn a nonconference win Tuesday. Myra Miller drove in four runs off two hits and Jillian Bontrager drove in three runs. Janissa Lehman was 3-of-4 at the plate as Westview improves to 6-2.

BOYS GOLF

Fairfield 170, Central Noble 183, Prairie Heights 187

Fairfield defeated Central Noble and Prairie Heights Tuesday. Jake Elliott shot 39 to lead the pack, following by Jayce Smith (43), Ben Kio (44) and Brett Schrock (44). Fairfield is now 9-2, 7-1 NECC.

GIRLS TENNIS

Bethany Christian 5, Lakeland 0

Bethany Christian swept Lakeland Tuesday with four courts winning 6-0, 6-0. The Bruins are now 6-1 on the year.

Northridge 4, Concord 1

Northridge defeated Concord Tuesday in Middlebury. Winning courts for the Raiders were Elaina Duthie (1S: 6-0, 6-1), Ava Kauffman (2S: 6-1, 6-4), Jade Snyder (3S: 6-1, 6-1) and Jovi Schmidt and Brooklyn Vasil (2D: 6-4, 6-1). Concord’s win came at No. 1 doubles with the duo of Stella Judd and Lidea Shell 6-4, 7-5. Northridge is now 11-4, 5-0 NLC while Concord slips to 2-9, 2-4 NLC.

Fairfield 4, Prairie Heights 1

Fairfield defeated Prairie Heights to earn its eighth victory of the season. The Falcons featured wins at No. 2 singles (Allie Stahly, 6-1, 7-5), No. 3 singles (Maylin Maust (6-0, 6-0), No. 1 doubles (Vienna Griffith and Zuri Buckholz, 6-1, 6-2) and No. 2 doubles (Abby Graber and Breya Buckholz (2D: 6-2, 6-2). Fairfield is now 8-1, 4-1 NECC.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Fairfield 80, Westview 52

Fairfield finished the NECC regular season slate with a win over Westview Tuesday. The Falcons commanded in sweeps of the 100-meter dash, 300-meter hurdles and high jump with the top three places going to Fairfield. The Falcons are now 4-1, 4-1 NECC while Westview falls to 3-4, 2-3 NECC.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Warsaw 83.5, Concord 48.5

Concord 83, Mishawaka 48

Concord split its regular season dual with Warsaw and Mishawaka on Tuesday. The Minutemen won nine events with Brynn Weirich leading the way with wins in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, 4X100-meter relay and the long jump. Evie Mashala won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles and was also on the 100-meter relay team. Hailey Arroyo won the high jump and Braycee Brosamer won the pole vault. Jocelyn Jones-Perry claimed first in shot put. Concord is now 4-3, 4-3 NLC.

Fairfield 99, Westview 32

Fairfield wrapped up the regular season portion of the NECC season on Tuesday, defeating rival Westview. The Falcons placed in the top three spots in the 400-meter dash, 3,200-meter dash and high jump. Fairfield is now 4-1, 4-1 NECC while Westview drops to 2-5, 2-3 NECC.

Plymouth 74, Goshen 58

Plymouth 92, NorthWood 40

Goshen 96, NorthWood 36

Goshen split its dual meet with Plymouth and NorthWood Tuesday. Local event winners included Goshen’s Kristina Petkova (100-, 200-meter dash), Destiny Sanchez (400-meter dash), Amari Lind (high jump), Zion Miller (pole vault) and the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams. Goshen is now 4-2-1, 4-2-1 NLC while NorthWood drops to 2-5, 2-5 NLC.

Northridge 88, Wawasee 44

Northridge earned the home win over Wawasee on Tuesday. The Raiders swept the top three spots in the 1,600-meter dash, shot put and discus. Alli Steele placed first in the high jump with a height of 5’ 4 1/2”, marking a new school record. Northridge is now 5-3-1, 3-3-1 NLC. Wawasee is now 1-6, 1-6 NLC.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

FW Carroll 3, Northridge 1

Northridge fell to 13-11 this season with a loss to Fort Wayne Carroll on Tuesday. The Chargers won 26-25, 25-10, 16-25, 25-13.
