Oregon's Wyndham Clark storms up leaderboard at Masters Tournament

The golf world has turned its attention to Augusta, Georgia, for the annual tradition unlike any other, as The Masters Tournament has gotten underway at Augusta National Golf Club.

One of the players who has garnered a lot of attention going into the weekend is none other than former Oregon Duck star Wyndham Clark, who had one of the best days of anyone in the field on Friday, heading into the weekend.

Clark shot a 4-under 68 on Friday in the second round, which puts him in a tie for seventh place in the tournament, currently led by defending Masters champion Rory McIlroy, at 12-under par. Clark's 4-under was the fourth-lowest round of any player on the day.

Clark had an even-par 72 on Thursday in the first round, which put him in a tie for 17th in the tournament. With an early tee time on Friday, he was able to storm out to an early hot start and post a low number to set the tone.

The performance is certainly encouraging for Clark, who has struggled a bit this season coming into the first major of the year. Coming into April, Clark had only placed in the top 25 once this year, making six of the eight cuts in tournaments he played. This comes after a year where he had no wins in 2025, but a pair of top-five finishes.

Clark will now be in the fourth-to-last tee time in Round 3 on Saturday, teeing off alongside Tyrrell Hatton at 11:17 a.m. PT. The Masters Tournament can be watched on CBS or on the Masters app.
