Ohtani, Yamamoto to Play in WBC, but You’ll Have to Wake Up Early

· Yahoo Sports

Los Angeles Dodgers stars Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be in action in the World Baseball Classic on Friday, but you’ll have to wake up pretty early if you want to see it.

Visit xsportfeed.life for more information.

Well, wake up early or stay up late, depending on your preference. Either way, it’s not ideal for the West Coast audience.

Samurai Japan is facing Chinese Taipei at 2 a.m. Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on FS1.

Japan’s Saturday game against Korea will be at the same time, presenting another challenge for those who hope to see Ohtani and Hyeseong Kim face off.

Kim and Team Korea won their first WBC game Thursday morning over Czechia by a score of 11-4.

How Much Will Ohtani and Yamamoto Play?

Ohtani will only be hitting for Japan, not pitching, so he’s likely to appear frequently.

The reigning World Series MVP Yamamoto, however, will be limited in his appearances, and on Friday, he’s only expected to go for three innings.

For Ohtani, it’s a shift from the 2023 edition of the tournament.

Japan took the title that year as Ohtani struck out Angels teammate Mike Trout to secure Japan’s victory over Team USA.

Who Else is Playing in the WBC and How Can I Watch?

Ohtani and Yamamoto are the biggest Dodgers stars to compete in the WBC, but World Series hero Will Smith is competing for Team USA, as is former Dodger pitcher Clayton Kershaw.

The aforementioned Kim is playing for Team Korea, and newly acquired closer Edwin Diaz is pitching for Puerto Rico.
