Nebraska HC Matt Rhule has suffered losing streak since appearing on HBO hit Lanterns
· Yahoo Sports
Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule made an appearance as himself on HBO and DC Studios’ show Lanterns last month, but his record since then hasn’t been great.
Rhule played himself in the hit show, making an appearance in the final episode of the season while trying to recruit a character on the show.

However, this one-time appearance in Hollywood may have jinxed his Cornhuskers, who haven’t been able to win a game since his cameo.
Nebraska Cornhuskers go 0-4 after Matt Rhule’s appearance on HBO’s Lanterns
After their latest loss to Illinois, one fan on social media pointed out that the Nebraska Cornhuskers have lost four games straight since Matt Rhule made an appearance on HBO and DC Studios’ hit show.
In the show, Matt Rhule is there to help recruit Noah Macon to Nebraska as their next quarterback, not knowing that he was a half-alien being known as a manhunter.
Macon, who was initially portrayed as a possible future villain, tells John Stewart that he wishes to lead a normal life and not fulfil his programming’s goal to take over humanity.
In the canon of the DC Universe, Matt Rhule is pivotal to the future safety of the human race, as he will be one of the figures guiding and mentoring a manhunter with the power to take over the entire planet.
However, that will come as little relief to Rhule and the rest of the Cornhuskers, given their woes this season.
After their loss to Illinois, Rhule decided to fire OC Dana Holgerson, marking the first major personnel change he and the Cornhuskers have had to make.
The Cornhuskers are currently 5-4 for the season, squandering what had been a solid 5-0 start to the season over the last month.
Within the Big Ten, the Cornhuskers are 2-4, showing that they are far from being able to compete against the best of the best in their conference.
