Falcons linebacker designated to return from injured reserve

The Atlanta Falcons are making sure their roster is in order before this weekend's matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in Madrid, Spain. The team placed defensive end Samson Ebukam on the injured reserve list and signed Drake Jackson to the practice squad on Tuesday.

While we expect the Falcons to activate James Pearce Jr. before Sunday's game, they have three total roster spots available at the moment and one practice squad vacancy. Assuming one goes to Pearce, that means two other moves are likely coming this week.
According to Falcons beat reporter D. Orlando Ledbetter, the team has designated linebacker Yasir Abdullah to return from the injured reserve list. This means Abdullah's 21-day practice window will open this week and he could be activated to the 53-man roster at any time.

Abdullah has appeared in four games this season, recording two solo tackles, four QB hits and one pass deflection. The 26-year-old has played in 33 career games since entering the league as a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Louisville.
