The Chicago Bears still haven't played their game this cycle because they have a big Monday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 2. The Bears have a 5-2 record going into the matchup, while the Seahawks are 4-3. Both teams are considered among the stronger teams in the NFC, so it should make for an exciting watch.

Ahead of the game, one New England Patriots player is being punished for actions that he took against Bears franchise quarterback Caleb Williams. The incident happened during the teams' Week 7 Thursday Night Football game on Oct. 22.

Each week, the NFL hands out punishments in the form of fines to players for actions taken in the games the week prior.

Patriots linebacker Gabe Jacas fined for late hit on Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams

On Saturday, the NFL slapped Patriots linebacker Gabe Jacas with an $8,744 fine for a late hit on the quarterback and a roughing the passer penalty with 2:21 remaining in the game.

Jacas was penalized for taking Williams down after the quarterback had already thrown the ball. The costly 15-yard penalty gave Chicago valuable field position and helped the Bears put together a touchdown drive.

According to the NFL, the league "uses the fine schedule to outline the league's and the union's expectations for players to conduct themselves in a way that honors the sport and respects the game, themselves, their fellow players, the fans and the league."

Jacas can appeal the fine, but if he doesn't, the funds go to a good cause. Fines collected, the NFL states, are "donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation."
