The Roman side sealed the win in the first half thanks to four goals from Cristante, Mora, Malen, and Ndicka.
Second-half goals from Zaniolo and Palma proved futile, but the game was finally put to rest in the closing stages with Ghilardi’s first league goal for the Giallorossi.
Bryan Cristante, the scorer of the opening goal and team captain, spoke to DAZN post-match and analyzed the team’s performance.
“We came in well and had a great first half. We needed to be more focused in the second half. The important thing today was to win. We need to stay close to the top teams, and today that wasn’t easy, and we did that very well.”
“The top of the table? We want to believe. And if we play like this, we have a chance. There’s a lot at stake, but as long as we’re here, we’ll do everything we can to stay there.”
“We create a lot and score a lot, if we can continue like this we can stay at the top for a long time.”
