Former Alabama coach Nick Sabana pointed out, while appearing on the Pat McAfee show before the game against Indiana, that the offense looked better when Carr came into the game against Penn State.
“I’m not in that situation, so I don’t know what gives them the best opportunity to win. But based on last week’s performance, it was certainly a shot in the arm for Michigan when Tommy Carr came in,” Saban said.
Carr has a chance this week to get the offense going this week against Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights defense is 12th in the nation in opponent points per game, while sitting 127th in opponent yards per game. If Carr cannot get things going this week, it could be back to Underwood again in the future. The Big Ten clash is set for a 12:30 pm ET kickoff on Saturday.
