Toronto polls sluggish, but Olivia Chow grabs lead in mayoral race
· Toronto Sun

Toronto voters went to the polls on Monday to select their next city council, and had an unusually long wait to learn what’s next for the city.
With an initial 477 polls reporting – more than a quarter of the total – incumbent Olivia Chow held the lead with 52.1% over city councillor Brad Bradford, at 42.9%.

In a distant third, perhaps because of some confused voters, was Braeden Chow. Olivia Chow had made her place on the ballot – No. 9 – a key part of her campaign messaging in the late stretch before election day.
Torontonians were left in suspense for more than an hour as the election’s results were unusually slow to roll in. While polls were supposed to close at 8 p.m., city hall posted on social media at nearly 9 p.m. to say that voters were still waiting in line at some polling stations.
Several Toronto incumbent councillors had an easy night. With just a few polls reporting, Paul Ainslie, Alejandra Bravo, Jon Burnside, Shelley Carroll, Lily Cheng, Rachel Chernos Lin, Mike Colle, Stephen Holyday, James Pasternak, Anthony Perruzza, Josh Matlow and Michael Thompson each held more than half of the vote in their respective wards.
More to come.
