Golden Gate Highlands National Park: New entry fee from 1 November

South African National Parks (SANParks) announced an increase entry prices to all its parks as of Sunday, 1 November 2026.

ENTRY FEES FOR GOLDEN GATE HIGHLANDS NATIONAL PARK

The Golden Gate Highlands National Park is located in the foothills of he Maluti Mountains of the northeastern Free State. The park is described as a “haven of natural beauty and cultural heritage.” Visitors planning a trip to Golden Gate Highlands National Park will pay higher entrance fees from 1 November 2026.

This is because South African National Parks (SANParks) introduced its revised conservation tariffs for the 2026/2027 financial year. The new conservation fee for the 2026/2027 financial year applies until 31 October 2027.

HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST FOR A FAMILY TO VISIT THE PARK?

For South African families, the increase is relatively small. A family of two adults and two children will pay R228 for a day visit from November, compared with R220 under the previous rates.

This is just an additional R8 for the family. International families will face a larger increase. Two international adults and two children will pay R1074 per day, compared with R976 previously. That is an additional R98 for the same visit.

These amounts cover daily conservation fees only. Accommodation, guided activities and other services are additional costs to consider.
