What did Jayson Tatum know about Jaylen Brown being traded to Philadelphia this summer, and when did he know it?

To hear Tatum tell it, during an interview posted to his YouTube channel, he was as caught off guard as anyone when Brown was traded.

"We was in Vegas. I just got done playing pick-up the first day. Shams [Charania, ESPN news breaker] walks over. He hand me the towel and he's like, 'Yo, put this over your face. Don't react. They just traded him.' I'm like, 'Oh s***,' I'm like, 'Where?' He said, "Philly." You traded him down the street? So, I was just as much off-guard as the rest of the world."

Brown responded in the comments with a cap emoji, essentially saying he doesn't think Tatum is telling the truth about his reaction or what he knew when.

After the Celtics knocked off the Knicks on Friday night, Tatum was asked if he had a reaction and just sighed, then praised Brown, with the quote via the Associated Press.

"I don't have any animosity or beef, or ill will towards him. I think the toughest part is since he's not on the Celtics anymore, the narrative or the conversations haven't been enough about what we accomplished — all the games we won, winning a championship, how we've grown together. It's turned into this drama type of thing."

That echoes what Tatum said on his YouTube directly after describing how he learned about the trade.

"I very much have been transparent about how thankful, I personally am, for our relationship, and what we were able to accomplish over nine years.Talk about 2017 to 2025-26. Jayson and Jaylen. You won't ever be able to talk about one of us without the other. Just our ability to grow up as kids. And go through our ups and downs. And people talking about one of us had to go. And we couldn't win together. There was a lot of s*** that we had to deal with."

Tatum doesn't think there's a beef between him and Brown. How does Brown feel about that?
