Barcelona have assured that Sunday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid will proceed as scheduled despite a three-day strike by a group of the club’s permanent discontinuous workers.
The October 25 fixture at the Spotify Camp Nou is among several sporting events expected to take place normally, with the club confident it has sufficient staff to manage operations during the industrial action.
According to SPORT, Barcelona have maintained that the strike will not disrupt their planned schedule.
The industrial action began at midnight on October 23 and is due to continue until 06:00 on October 26, placing it directly across the weekend of one of the club’s biggest matches of the season.
Barcelona workers strike goes ahead after failed negotiations
The strike was called by a group of around 60 permanent seasonal employees protesting what they describe as a deterioration in their working conditions.

Their concerns include insufficient staffing to manage the logistical demands of sporting events at Barcelona’s facilities.
Efforts to reach an agreement between the two parties at the Catalonia Labour Court failed, leaving the planned industrial action in place.
The workers are using the three-day strike to draw attention to their concerns about staffing levels and the conditions under which major events are organised.
The timing places additional pressure on the club’s operational planning, with El Clasico attracting significant crowds and requiring extensive coordination across stadium services and event logistics.
El Clasico and other sporting events expected to proceed
Despite the dispute, club sources have stated that matches involving Barcelona’s professional teams scheduled at its facilities this weekend will go ahead as normal.
That includes fixtures at the Spotify Camp Nou, Estadi Johan Cruyff and Palau Blaugrana, alongside youth-team matches at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper.

Barcelona have therefore expressed confidence that they can maintain their sporting programme throughout the strike.
Barcelona face an operational test ahead of El Clasico
The priority for Barcelona is to ensure that the strike does not affect the matchday experience or the delivery of other scheduled events.
El Clasico carries enormous sporting and commercial importance, making the club’s ability to maintain normal operations particularly significant.
The club’s assurance provides clarity over the planned fixture, but the underlying dispute remains unresolved.
The workers’ concerns about staffing and working conditions will still require attention after the weekend if Barcelona are to prevent further industrial action.
