· Yahoo Sports
DENVER — The Pittsburgh Penguins’ warm-up before they faced the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena had a surprise twist, and it’s not good news for the Penguins.
As expected, Elmer Soderblom was part of line rushes, but so was Ville Koivunen. The player missing was winger Egor Chinakhov, who is being evaluated for a lower-body injury. Per the team, his prognosis is unknown as he is being evaluated.

The organization told the traveling media contingent, including PHN, that Chinakhov suffered the injury in practice Thursday in Chicago.
Koivunen took Chinakhov’s spot beside Tommy Novak and Evgeni Malkin. This season, Koivunen, 23, has two points (1-1-2) in five games.
This season, Chinakhov, 25, has just one goal and two points in seven games, falling short of last season’s 18-goal pace in 41 games.
