A Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with hail, damaging winds and heavy downpours is in place over most of KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday, while Level 1 damaging winds hit the Karoo and veld fire conditions are rated Level 10 in the central Northern Cape. Musina and Richards Bay are the hottest on 35°C, and showers and thundershowers are possible across North West and the Free State.

Thursday and Friday turn hotter, with Richards Bay on 40°C, Pietermaritzburg on 38°C on Friday and Upington on 37°C. The weekend cools the south, with rain showers in the Western Cape on Saturday and a 60% chance of rain across the Eastern Cape on Sunday.
