The QPR boss revealed several players were struggling physically by the closing stages, with Tariq Lamptey suffering an ankle injury and both Kealey Adamson and Jake Clarke-Salter dealing with cramp.
“Tariq Lamptey had an ankle injury,” Stephan said.
“I know we had 11 players on the pitch but in fact we had only eight or nine in good shape.”
Stephan was particularly impressed by Adamson, who managed to see out the game despite being badly affected late on.
“Kealey Adamson finished with some cramp, it was very difficult for him to finish, what personality as well,” he added.
“How brave he was in the last ten minutes because he was completely destroyed.”
Clarke-Salter was also struggling towards the end of the game, but QPR managed to hold on and secure a point.
“Jake Clarke-Salter had some cramps as well for 15 minutes at the end of the game,” Stephan said.
