Spurs announce Tipoff Week with free food, fan parties and giveaways

The Spurs are marking their Oct. 20 home opener with eight days of promotions and fan events across San Antonio, including free food, giveaways and parties.

Dubbed Tipoff Week, the celebration runs Oct. 13-20 and leads up to the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Frost Bank Center. It comes as the Spurs return from a run to the NBA Finals last season. Daily promotions and events will range from free wings and onion rings to trivia, giveaways and two free fan parties.
"It's a thrilling time to be part of the Spurs community, as we carry the momentum of last season's Finals run into a new chapter," Jordan Mandelkorn, vice president of marketing, creative and retail at Spurs Sports & Entertainment, said in a news release.

Tipoff Week starts with food, trivia and giveaways
Tipoff Week begins Tuesday, Oct. 13, with deals at local restaurants in the Spurs Culinary Residency Program. Offers include discounts and free items. Fans can text MENU to 210-444-5940 for the full list of restaurants and deals.
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, fans can test their Silver and Black knowledge at a trivia night at Pluckers, 92 NE Loop 410. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. Prizes include jerseys, tickets and other items. Fans wearing Spurs gear will receive five free wings.
On Thursday, Oct. 15, the festivities move online with "Coyote's Fast Break," a game in the team's official mobile app. Players will have a chance to win a team ball autographed by the 2025-26 Spurs.
Whataburger will offer a free medium order of onion rings to fans in the San Antonio and Austin areas starting Friday, Oct. 16. The deal runs through Oct. 20 and requires the Whataburger app and a Rewards account.
Fans who shop at Spurs Fan Shop locations or online Saturday, Oct. 17, will earn double Spurs Rewards points throughout the day.
Free Spurs parties lead into opening night

The celebration continues through the final days before the Spurs' home opener.
The team will host a free "Back to Basketball" event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at The Rock at La Cantera. The all-ages event will include music, giveaways, lawn games and performances by Spurs Entertainment.
On Monday, Oct. 19, the festivities move downtown for a free Tipoff Party at Hemisfair. The all-ages event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Red McCombs Community Court, 739 E. César E. Chávez Blvd., with Spurs-themed photo opportunities and other activities.
The week concludes Tuesday, Oct. 20, when the Spurs host the Oklahoma City Thunder at Frost Bank Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
