Ben Johnson says Bears RB Kyle Monangai's thumb injury 'not an issue'

Chicago Bears second-year running back Kyle Monangai had a career outing against the New York Jets, where he had 30 carries for 146 yards and two touchdowns. But he exited the game late in the fourth with a thumb injury.
The good news is that Monangai's thumb injury doesn't appear to be serious, as head coach Ben Johnson told reporters Wednesday that it's "not an issue." Although, he did add that his body is feeling the effects of his heavy workload against the Jets.

"He had 30 carries and he feels like he had 30 carries," Johnson said.
In last Sunday's win over the Jets, the Bears amassed 232 rushing yards, marking the second time this season they've eclipsed 230 yards on the ground. This time, Monangai was the star with his first 100-yard game of the season.
When Monangai left the game in the fourth quarter, he was replaced by third-string running back Roschon Johnson. Starter D'Andre Swift, who totaled 58 yards on 13 carries, didn't return to the game after a costly fumble early in the third quarter.
As the Bears prepare to face the hated Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday, they'll have their 1-2 punch at running back in Swift and Monangai ready to attack a struggling Packers run defense, which is allowing 139.3 rushing yards per game.
