Welcome to the fifth installment of Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week for the 2026 fall sports season.

This week, and in weeks to come, you can vote for a girls athlete and a boys athlete of the week.

This week's polls are for outstanding athletic accomplishments from Sept. 28-Oct. 3.

How do I cast my vote?

Voting can be completed through the two ballots listed below. Voting closes at midnight Thursday, Oct. 8.

How do we learn who wins?

Winners will be announced in a story published Friday, Oct. 9 at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports.

May I nominate for future ballots?

Yes. Nominate a Seacoast high school athlete by sending an email to [email protected]. Feel free to send us a photo of the athlete, too.

BOYS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Geffen Adorian, Dover, soccer

Adorian scored three goals to help lead Dover to a 7-1 Division I win over Timberlane on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Joey Alvarez, Oyster River, tennis

Alvarez shot a 1-over-par 37 as Oyster River concluded its regular season with a Division II sweep at Amherst Country Club on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Ryan Dyer, St. Thomas Aquinas, soccer

Dyer scored four goals in the Saints' 9-0 win over Sanborn on Friday, Oct. 2, and had one goal and two assists in a 4-0 win over Laconia on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Kaleb Hefler, Somersworth, football

Hefler scored three touchdowns to lead Somersworth to a 44-0 win over Gilford on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Marcus Zietala, York, soccer

Zietala scored the game-winning goal with six minutes left in York's 3-2 win over North Yarmouth Academy on Thursday, Oct. 1, and scored another game-winner for York in an overtime win over Lincoln Academy, 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 3.

GIRLS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Kathleen Lynch, Dover, soccer

Lynch scored one goal and had two assists in Dover's 3-1 win over Timberlane on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Molly Marquis, Portsmouth Christian Academy, volleyball

Marquis had eight kills, five aces and 12 digs in PCA's 3-2 win over Farmington on Thursday, Oct. 1, and had 13 digs, six aces and five kills in PCA's 3-2 loss to Mascenic on Monday, Sept. 28.

Emily Pitfick, Winnacunnet, volleyball

Pitfick had 19 digs and four assists in Winnacunnet's 3-0 win over Keene on Thursday, Oct. 1. She had 24 assists and four digs in the Warriors' 3-2 loss to Salem on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Brooklyn Smith, Marshwood, soccer

Smith score two goals to lead Marshwood to a 2-1 victory over Kennebunk on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Dimitra Zygouri, Newmarket, soccer

Zygouri scored the lone goal in Newmarket's 1-0 win over Derryfield on Thursday, Oct. 1; and scored a goal in Newmarket's 6-4 win over Holy Family on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
