The five-time Super Bowl MVP was explaining the play alongside sportscaster Kevin Burkhardt when his microphone appeared to cut out.

“Sorry Tom, little mic issue. We’ll get back to that and show your protection lesson in a moment,” Burkhardt said.

Brady returned soon after, saying: “Alright, I’m back, everyone; had a little technical difficulties.”

Later, Burkhardt asked the former QB if he wanted to “fess up” about the audio issue.

“Okay, my fault,” Brady said, before holding up a large folder to the camera. “I have this big, clunky board, which I have all this information about what I want to say all day and I dropped it on the talkback button,” he explained.

“And I’m sitting here going, ‘God, I can’t hear anyone, you guys?’ And it’s my fault the whole time. So that’s like a quarterback owning up to his mistake,” he joked.

After retiring from football, Brady joined Fox Sports in 2022 after penning a $375 million, 10-year deal, making him the highest-paid sports commentator in history.

The former New England Patriots star endured a jittery start to life in the booth, but has since won over fans with his analysis and impassioned commentary.

“Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt are the best commentary duo ever man, these reactions are always so good,” one fan wrote on X yesterday alongside a clip of Darius Cooper’s stunning 18-yard touchdown catch.

“KB and Tom in the booth are electric. Never understood the Tom Brady broadcaster slander,” wrote another.

“Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt are Kobe and Shaq,” added a third.

Brady played for the Patriots for the first 20 years of his career, going on to win six Super Bowl titles and three NFL MVP awards. In 2020, he signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he remained for the rest of his career. He helped lead the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2021.

Following his retirement, Brady has continued to build his post-NFL empire and is estimated to be worth half a billion dollars. Along with the Raiders, he became a minority owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces and of the English soccer team Birmingham City.

Brady has additionally branched out into entertainment with the launch of his production company, 199 Productions, in 2020. The company develops documentaries, films, and TV shows with a focus on sports and entertainment.

So far, there has been the Brady-centric 80 for Brady sports comedy, starring Rita Moreno, Sally Field, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, and the series Man in the Arena: Tom Brady, which won a Sports Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Documentary Series. 199 Productions also produced Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which received an Emmy nomination in 2024 for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
