The Philadelphia Eagles dropped to 2-2 with a 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. It was a rough game for the Eagles, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.

Philadelphia entered the game without star wide receiver DeVonta Smith and right tackle Lane Johnson, which made it tough for the offense. The injury news didn't get any better for the Eagles, as star running back Saquon Barkley left with a hamstring injury in the first quarter.
Tank Bigsby stepped up as the lead back for Philadelphia, rushing for 55 yards on 14 carries. However, it wasn't a strong performance overall, as the Eagles rushed for 104 yards on 27 carries as a team and didn't find the end zone.
The passing attack wasn't much better, as Jalen Hurts completed 12 of 27 passes for 98 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Darius Cooper was the leading receiver for Philadelphia with three receptions for 33 yards and two touchdowns. Although Cooper showed flashes of his talent, it was overall a terrible display from the offense.
While the offense struggled mightily, the Eagles' defense played at a high level. Cooper DeJean and Andrew Mukuba both picked off Matthew Stafford and held the Rams' elite offense to 10 points through the first three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, Stafford led a 10-play, 97-yard drive that culminated in a one-yard touchdown run by Kyren Williams, which cut the Eagles' lead to 20-17.
After a three-and-out by the Eagles offense, Los Angeles got the ball back and took full advantage. Stafford led a 10-play, 79-yard drive, with Williams punching it into the end zone on a seven-yard run. That gave the Rams a 24-20 lead with 1:10 left in the game.
Philadelphia had a chance to take the lead, but it went nowhere. Byron Young sacked Hurts on first down, which wasted a ton of time as the Eagles were without timeouts.
On 2nd-and-17, Hurts threw an incompletion intended for Cooper. Young sacked Hurts again on third down, setting up a desperation fourth-down pass that fell incomplete.
The Eagles offense has looked atrocious through the first four games of the season, despite winning two. While they have injuries to key players, Philadelphia's issues go beyond that, and first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion needs to get the unit on track in Week 5 against a talented Jacksonville Jaguars team.
