Fireworks during the main event – Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong for the vacant women’s flyweight title -- would be a bonus.

The card, derided as potentially one of the worst in recent memory, has delivered beyond expectations in Salt Lake City Saturday, Oct. 3.
That included seven consecutive first-round knockouts, and eight in nine fights.
Not too long ago, the UFC had a problem with excessive grappling. Then Dana White, UFC’s CEO, introduced bonuses for finishes.
It’s turned out to be a bonus for viewers, with UFC 332 the latest evidence that that TKOs and KOs are on the rise.
The most spectacular knockout was delivered by Damian Pinas, who drilled Andrey Pulyaev and decked him at 1:15 in the first round.
But a half dozen other fighters are contending for runner-up honors.
It wasn’t just the knockouts that produced excitement.
Former NFL player Anthony Wint and Johnny Walker stamped themselves as heavyweight contenders with first-round knockouts.
Roman Kopylov slayed Adonis (a.k.a. Ateba Gauthier). Equipped with a nasty straight left, Kopylov became the first fighter to finish Gauthier, who entered the fight 11-1 with 10 knockouts.
While the finishes in Salt Lake City were devastating, the celebrations were memorable too.
No backflips off the top of the octagon a la Justin Gaethje. But Jacobe Smith did a cartwheel and a backflip after his first-round knockout of Bruce Whitehead. Johnny Walker did the worm after his first-round knockout of Mick Parkin. And Imanol Rodriguez twirled after his first-round knockout of Alden Coria.
