Neha Bora detained in ‘unauthorised vehicle’ on day 3 of protests against CEC, released hours later

All India Students’ Association chief Neha Bora was detained by the Delhi Police on Sunday as protests to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation entered the third day.

AISA later said Bora had been released at Narela Industrial Area Police Station in north Delhi, but alleged that their phone and bag were not returned.
Earlier, the student association alleged that Bora was taken in an “unauthorised vehicle” without a female constable.

A protest was scheduled to begin from Andhra Bhawan Circle on Ashoka Road and proceed towards Jantar Mantar. Police had not granted permission for the march and deployed around 5,000 personnel, including Rapid Action Force along with drones and barricades, Hindustan Times reported.
As protesters attempted to move towards Jantar Mantar, police stopped them at the barricades. Several demonstrators were detained and forced into buses. Protesters tried to stop the vehicles from leaving and and smashed the window of a police bus a window of a police bus, The Wire reported.
