R90 million up for grabs tonight: Here’s everything you need to know
· The South African
Tonight’s PowerBall draw takes place at 21:00 with an estimated R90 million up for grabs in the jackpot.
HOW TO PLAY POWERBALL
How to play PowerBall: pick 5 numbers from 1 to 50, plus one PowerBall number from 1 to 16.
Visit amunra.qpon for more information.
A board costs R10.
Match all six numbers, and the entire jackpot is yours.
Draws take place every Tuesday and Friday at 21:00, broadcast live on SABC and e.tv.
If you’d rather not choose your own numbers, a Quick Pick lets the terminal select a random set for you instead.
WHY TONIGHT’S JACKPOT HAS GROWN SO LARGE
Tuesday’s draw came and went without a PowerBall jackpot winner, meaning the guaranteed prize rolled over again, continuing an extended run without a Division 1 winner.
Rollovers happen whenever no single ticket matches all five main numbers plus the PowerBall, and the unclaimed portion carries forward, growing the pot for the next draw.
WHERE TO BUY YOUR TICKET
PowerBall tickets are available in-store at any authorised Sizekhaya retailer, through the National Lottery website, via the official mobile app, or through participating online cellphone banking apps.
Tickets close at 20:40 tonight, so don’t leave it too late.
I always find draw night oddly thrilling, even from the sidelines.
There’s something about knowing millions of South Africans are checking the exact same numbers at the exact same moment, all waiting to see if tonight is finally the night.
With this many rollovers behind us now, you can genuinely feel the tension building, everyone’s hoping tonight is the one that finally breaks the streak.
