Harry Kane lavishes praise on Barcelona’s Anthony Gordon: ‘He belongs at the highest level’

Anthony Gordon is going through an excellent phase in his career. The England winger joined FC Barcelona in the summer, went to the World Cup and impressed as the Three Lions finished third in the tournament.
Since then, his adaptation to Hansi Flick’s Barcelona has been remarkably smooth. He has quickly won over the dressing room and supporters through his work rate, direct running and relentless effort on the wing.
Goals have yet to arrive for Barça, but his impact is already clear: he has provided five assists and emerged as one of the standout players of the opening weeks of the season.
Now, Gordon is continuing to carry that trend forward on the international stage too. With England, the Barcelona winger once again played a decisive role in the 2-0 victory over Czechia.

Harry Kane, England’s captain and a leading Ballon d’Or contender, was unequivocal in hailing Gordon after the match.
“Gordon is showing that he belongs at the highest level, both for Barcelona and England,” Kane said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
Gordon opened the scoring against Czechia with a header from a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross, before Kane himself sealed the victory with England’s second goal.
It was another impressive international performance from the Barcelona winger and continued his strong run of form for the national team.
After all, the 25-year-old attacker has been directly involved in seven goals in his last six games for England (3G, 4A).

“His performances in the last few games have been some of the best he has produced in an England shirt. Moving to a big club has given him confidence,” Kane added.
Enjoying the responsibility
The England captain also highlighted Gordon’s attitude within the team. In Kane’s view, the Barcelona winger is enjoying the increased responsibility that has come with becoming an important player under Thomas Tuchel.
“I think he’s simply enjoying putting the shirt on and being one of the main players in the team,” Kane explained.
Gordon and England will be in action again this week when they take on Croatia, before concluding their international break with a home game against Czechia.
