T.J. Edwards got nothing from eavesdropping on Eagles' huddle
· Yahoo Sports
Monday night's game between the Eagles and Bears featured a moment in which former Eagles (now Bears) linebacker T.J. Edwards tiptoed toward the huddle to try to hear what Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was saying.
Then the play started, and Edwards intercepted a pass from Hurts.

After the game, Edwards was asked whether he picked anything up from his eavesdropping attempt.
"No," Edwards said, via Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic. "I was like, 'Maybe I'll hear some familiar stuff,' and like they must have changed language up because I had no idea what they were talking about."
That's no surprise. Edwards last played for the Eagles in 2022. They've had four offensive coordinators since Edwards left.
Regardless, Edwards brings to the Bears a knowledge of Hurts and other players with whom he played. It's one of the basic realities of today's high-mobility NFL. Little things can be picked up and possibly used later. Tendencies, tells, habits, etc.
Every quarterback needs to be keeping notes on all defenders he faces in practice, and every defender needs to be keeping notes on all quarterbacks they face in practice. Today's coworker can be tomorrow's enemy, and an edge can come from anywhere.
