The Oklahoma City Thunder have one of the most well-constructed rosters in the league ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.
While 2x NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will remain the pivotal part of the team, the likes of Chet Holmgren truly make the Thunder a powerhouse in the Western Conference.
Although Holmgren has only improved since getting drafted as the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, fans still feel his lean frame is holding him back from reaching his true potential.

Now, ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, Holmgren has apparently gained two pounds, as shared by Thunder insider Clemente Almanza.
This negligible weight gain has done more harm than good for Holmgren, as NBA fans took several shots at him on social media.
“Oh no, Wemby’s in trouble now,” a fan wrote. While another sarcastically added, “OMG he’s unstoppable now.”
“That’s water weight from a steakhouse meal,” a third fan pointed out. “Dude, that’s no gain; he must have had a big dinner the night before,” a fourth fan said.
“Bro ate a burger,” a fifth fan hilariously reached a conclusion.
Despite not having a muscular frame, Holmgren has already established himself as one of the best defenders in the NBA.
After all, he finished second behind Victor Wembanyama in the race for the 2026 NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.
