CR earns over 3400 crores through Freight loading

Central Railway registered impressive Freight Loading of 34.48 MT (million tonnes) in 13058 rakes during the period April to August 2026. This is against loading of 32.10 MT in 12369 rakes during the corresponding period last year, marking an increase of more than 7 % in respect of tonnage. It also indicates increase of 689 rakes
Total Revenue earned through freight loading during the period amounted to Rs.3461.92 crores as against Rs.3346.80 crores revenue earned during the same period last FY.

Of the total loading of 34.48 MT, Nagpur division has contributed a major share with loading of 20.31 MT which is 58.90% followed by Mumbai division with loading of 8.56 MT which is 24.83%.
Of the total revenue of Rs.3461.92 crores, the biggest contributor has been Nagpur division with revenue of Rs.2072.73 crores which is 59.87 % followed by Mumbai division with revenue of Rs.800.49 crores which is 23.12 %.
Automobile loading increased to 451 rakes during April- August 2026 against 357 rakes during the corresponding period last year indicating an increase of 94 rakes.*

CR achieved its highest freight loading of 6.85 MT for August month in the last 10 years
For the month of August -2026, Freight Loading stood at 6.85 MT (million tonnes) in 2567 rakes against loading of 5.61 MT in 2315 rakes during the same month last year indicating an increase of more than 22% in tonnage and increase of 252 in number of rakes.
The revenue earned in the month of August -2026 amounted to Rs.684.78 crores against revenue of Rs.583.69 crores, registering an increase of more than 17%

· Coal loading - 904 rakes in August 2026 against 557 rakes in August 2025
· Petroleum Products loading – 248 rakes in August 2026 against 214 rakes in August 2025
· Automobile loading – 85 rakes in August 2026 against 69 rakes in August 2025
· Iron Ore loading – 64 rakes in August 2026 against 57 rakes in August 2025
· Sugar loading – 43 rakes in August 2026 against 38 rakes in August 2025
· Foodgrains loading – 10 rakes in August 2026 against 4 rakes in August 2025
· Dolomite loading – 4 rakes in August 2026 against 1 rake in August 2025
