After shutting out the Titans in game one, 6-0, the Otters dropped game two of the series Wednesday 11-1. The difference in the two games was clear; it was pitching. Evansville's pitching in the first game held the Ottawa offense under control only surrendering three total hits. While in game two, the Titans tallied 13 hits including a grand slam.
Now the series shifts to the home of the Titans for the next three games if the Otters can force a deciding game five. But Evansville manager, Andy McCauley said he isn't worried about their chances on the road.
"I mean we won 62 games, it's not a fluke that we're here," he said. "I mean we got a good bunch of guys, great bunch of guys, good players. You know and we just got to wash this one, flush this one away, get on a bus drive 15 hours and do it again on Friday. But, this is a special group and I'm not concerned at all with it being 1-1. Now we just got to win the series and we won quite a few series this year going 62-40. So I still like our chances."
The Otters won two straight games on the road in the Wild Card Round against Schaumburg. Then after winning two games at home in the Conference Finals, they mustered out one win in a final game five at Washington.
Game three of the Championship series is scheduled for Friday, September 25th at 6:05 p.m.
